Tailbot

Teammates: Evan Chang-Siu, Matt Brown, and Dennis Wai

The Tailbot is a lizard-inspired active robotic tail to enable rapid maneuvers and dynamic stabilization.

This is the project that got me interested in robotics. I designed the frame of a new 2 degree of freedom robot in 3D CAD, designed and fabricated the circuit board to house the electronics, and contributed to the sensor fusion algorithms to estimate the orientation of the robot. This work led to the acceptance of a conference paper at the International Conference on Robotics and Automation during the summer of 2012. Here's a video of the robot doing cool things.
